Hello people, what a good boy i am who update his blog so regularly =) hehh tskkkkkk.
Okay, tonight when the clock strike 12, it means that it the offically the opening of the gate of hell.
In simple term, the opening of gate of hell allow all the ghost to wonder around the middle part of the world. Middle part of the world meaning the place where human beings stay.
There are three part of world,
The upper part = the sky where the gods live.
The middle part = Where the human beings live.
The lower part = Where all the dead live.

This Hungry Ghost Festival, my deceased ancestors are expected to return home for a 30-day visit. Empty seats for each of the deceased in the family are reserved during meals at my parents' house.

We have to prepare food offerings, burn incense and Hell money. Steps are taken to appease the spirits because if ignored, they would wreck havoc @.@

Rituals are performed in temples to transmute and absolve the sufferings of the deceased. My family was at several temples to pray for them.

For the whole month, we have to be home before dark to avoid any harmful spirits. No swimming is allowed lest the water ghosts would want us to be substitutes. *shiver*

We are not allowed to eat the delicacies used as offerings, unless otherwise served. They are meant for the spirits. Mysterious illness would strike those who pinch such offerings.

At the getais (open air mini concerts), never sit in the front row. These seats are strictly reserved for the VIPs aka Hungry Ghosts.

Avoid stepping on burnt offerings. You could be possessed. It is believed that the area where the burning takes place becomes an "opening" to the netherworld and stepping on would be disastrous.
As spirits are believed to be dominant during this period, weddings and business launches are not held.

Urban legends or superstitious beliefs, this month-long event is a time for us children to respect our elders and observe our Chinese traditions.

Important stuff to take note during the hungry ghost festival.

-for those "yin" ones, do take extra care.
for those "yang" ones, do take care also.

-Do not eat foods which are offered to ghosts or spirits during the Seventh month (hungry ghost festival)? You wouldn't right? Its a taboo not to eat these foods, which are not meant for us.

However if you were to consumed food offered to high ranking Taoist deities, gods, immortals, and buddha's. The food are blessed by their "Yang" energy, you can tell the moment you taste these food. It's always sweet, the aroma is delightful and the smell is always pleasant.

-To watch the getai show, as long as you don’t sit at the front row, which is reserved for the “special guests”.

-No swimming is allowed lest the water ghosts would want us to be substitutes. REMEMBER!

-DO NOT eat the delicacies used as offerings, unless otherwise served. They are meant for the spirits. Mysterious illness would strike those who pinch such offerings.

-DO NOT peel or touch the trees too oftenly as it is too be said that the tree are the house of the female spirits.

-Always get home before noon!

-Avoid bring ladies home, hehhhhh.

-Avoid having SEX with random ladies who you do not know.

-Do stay away from black cats/dogs.

-Do not get eye contact with other people.

-FOR LADIES !
-If your 'da yi ma' [mansuration] whatever it spelled =) , do not wipe your blood on somewhere of the whole outside or inside your house as this will attract males and females ghost to your house and also while throwing away your pats do make sure that there is not blood stains of your pats in your house as this might give the ghost a good chances to take possess of your body.

-Do not throw your pats inside public toilet or places where are dark and flimly.

-Avoid having too much red on yourself.

Being a buddism, I always try my best to avoid all those stuff. Seriously.
